Choosing the right equipment
Thanks to our module, you will be able to determine the exact equipment you need depending on the surface, activity, number of dogs in your team.
Ensemble bikejoring
The simplest way to attach a dog in front of a bike or scooter to practice these sports is to use the bikejoring bungee line. The bikejoring bungee line was designed and adapted specifically for these high-speed disciplines. Created with a longer elastic section the result is increased damping for gear changes. It is very important to attach the bungee line for bikejoring directly to the frame of the bike or scooter.
If you already have a multi-sport bungee line at home, you can simply add an extension to meet the recommended length of 2 meters without having to purchase a second bungee line.

Ensemble bikejoring
For the disciplines of both bikejoring and scooter with 2 dogs, it is very important to ensure you have good brakes on your equipment and choose slightly less technical trails. To practice these sports, you will need a pulling harness for each dog. In order to connect the dogs to your bike or scooter, you will need a bikejoring bungee line as well as a bungee line extension to add the 2nd dog. Although the product is called an extender, it will act as a divider here to divide your bungee line for each dog.
If you already have a multisport bungee line at home, it is not mandatory to get the one specifically designed for bikejoring. You can simply add two extensions, one for each dog, to your multisport bungee line.
In both cases, either with the bungee line for bikejoring and one extension or with the multisport bungee line and two extensions, you will need a neck line. The latter is a small line that attaches to your dogs' collars to ensure that they stay close to each other during your activity.

Ensemble trottinette
For 1-dog kicksled, it is important to have a stiffer bungee than for other traction sports like canicross and bikejoring as the pulling dynamics are quite different. To attach a dog in front of your kicksled, you will need a dog sled bungee. Next, as the dog sled bungee is created to make it as versatile as possible, you will need a tug line to add length so your dog doesn't get too close to the sled. And finally, your dog must have a pulling harness suitable for pulling sports.

KIcksled/Sled kit
Regardless if you are using a kicksled or a dogsled, how you will attach 2 dogs to the front, remains the same. First you will need a dog sled bungee. The latter is stiffer than our multisport bungee or our bikejoring bungee since the pulling dynamics for sledding are much different than when you do canicross or bikejoring. Thereafter, you will need two tug lines in order to divide the bungee for each of the dogs. Each of your dogs will also need a suitable pulling harness and finally, in order to ensure that the dogs stay side by side, you will need a neck line that attaches to each of your dogs' collars.

Dog sled kit
The equipment needed to harness 3 dogs in front of a dog sled consists of a dog sled bungee, a team section, a tug line as well as 3 harnesses, one for each of your dogs.
There are two ways to attach 3 dogs to the front of your sled. The first is to have 2 dogs at the helm, closest to the sled (known as wheel dogs), and 1 dog in front who will lead the team (commonly called the leader). This is ideal if you have a dog that listens to directions very well and 2 dogs that are more the muscle of the team.
It is also possible to do the opposite and have 1 wheel dog with 2 lead dogs. The advantage here is to take some pressure off the lead dog since they will not be the only one listening to instructions. If you choose this option, you will need to detach a line from the team section to put it in front and add a neck line between the 2 leaders.
When hooking up 3 dogs, we strongly recommend having an anchor, known as a “snowhook” attached to your team just to be safe. If for some reason, the dogs get tangled or you need to get off the sled, you will be able to secure your crew to the ground to prevent them from scurrying off without you! In addition to your snowhook, you will also need a snowhook holder on your sled as well as the snowhook line to connect it to the carabiner in front of your sled.

Dog sled kit
In order to harness 4 dogs to the front of your sled, you will of course need 4 pulling harnesses, one for each of your dogs. Next, you will need a dog sled bungee. Following the sled bungee, you will need a team section in order to attach your 2 rear dogs, also called wheel dogs, as well as 2 tug lines for your 2 front dogs, commonly called leaders. In order for your 2 leaders to stay side by side, a neck line will be attached to their collar.
When hitching up 4 dogs, we strongly recommend having an anchor, known as a snowhook attached to your team just in case. If for some reason the dogs get tangled up or you need to get off the sled, then you can secure your crew safely to the ground to prevent them from scurrying off without you! The experience of 2-dogs cani-hike and canicross may be too intense compared to 1-dog if you have big dogs that pull hard, but they can also be enjoyable when your dogs are small and little less powerful. Of course, you will need a pulling harness for each of your dogs and a hybrid traction belt for you. In order to connect you to your two dogs, the multisport bungee line will need to be combined with the bungee line separator. Ultimately you will have a bungee line which starts from your belt and which splits in two after the elastic section to reach each of the dogs while maintaining the recommended distance of 1.25m.
Please note, the separator can only be paired with our new multisport bungee line that is equipped with a padded handle. If you have our old model of multisport bungee line or if you want your dogs to be a little further away from you, it is also possible to accomplish this using the bungee line extension. You would then need 2 extensions which will act as a separator once attached to the end of the multisport bungee line. In this case your dogs will be 2m away from you.
Regardless, if you use the separator or if you choose 2 extensions, you will need a neck line to ensure that your two dogs stay side by side.

Next, you will need a pulling harness for your dog as well as a belt for you. You can opt for the hybrid traction belt which, if you have a large dog that pulls hard, will then be more comfortable since it allows your dog's power to be better distributed over the entire pelvis.
