Nahak is a Quebec-based manufacturing company specializing in innovative, quality equipment for active dog owners.

From passion to business

Owners of a pack of nearly twenty dogs, the practice of dog harness sports has been an integral part of our way of life for over fifteen years now. It is this common passion for dogs, outdoors and nature that led us to found Nahak in 2015 and which propels, year after year, the evolution of our company.

Creating synergy between dog and human

After having managed a dog shelter for many years, we could only see the positive impact that dog harness sports had on the mental and physical health of our rescues. We are convinced that introducing sporting activities with dog in the daily life pushes the dog-human bond to another level and we wish to contribute to this by offering a wide range of safe equipment designed to their needs.

and design are one and the same

Offering evolving products adapted to the needs of both canine and human athletes is a priority for us. As we know, dogs are far from delicate with the equipment they use.

As a result, every piece of equipment we develop is the result of a rigorous creative process and in-depth knowledge based on long experience in the canine world.

The company

Visible from Highway 20, our 10,000 square foot production workshop has been located in the municipality of Laurier-Station since June 2017. We are lucky to share the Nahak adventure with a wonderful team of over ten employees. Our products are available in more than 200 retailers in Quebec in addition to being used all over Canada thanks to our online store.

Local sourcing

We take the notion of local manufacturing a step further by focusing on sourcing raw materials as locally as possible. To date, more than half of the raw materials we use are manufactured in Canada and the United States. In this way, we reduce our environmental footprint as much as possible, and are constantly on the lookout for new suppliers to shorten our supply chain.

Local manufacturing

All our products are made right here in Quebec at our Laurier-Station production facility. In an industry where "made in China" is very prevalent, and where many companies simply slap their logo on products developed and manufactured in Asia, we are proud to offer products that are entirely developed, tested and manufactured locally.

Protecting the environment

The environment is at the heart of our concerns, and one of the reasons why we give priority to sourcing raw materials and manufacturing locally. Of course, the actions we've put in place don't stop there: optimizing production to limit raw material losses, using no plastic for product packaging, shipping online orders in compostable bags, using 100% recycled paper for all company printing, and encouraging the purchase of used machinery and equipment are just some of the practices we're putting forward to help our planet.

By manufacturing locally, we ensure that we have complete control over the working conditions and environment in which our employees operate. Offering a stimulating work environment, good working conditions and the opportunity to easily reconcile work and personal life is a priority for us.

An ethical distribution network

Le bien être animal est au coeur de nos priorités. De ce fait, nos produits sont disponibles dans plus de 200 détaillants où nous nous sommes assurés qu’aucune vente de chiens et chats (à moins que ceux-ci proviennent d’un refuge) n’est effectuée. Les problèmes d’usines à chiots et de surpopulation féline sont une triste réalité au Québec et nous ne voulons en aucun cas nous associer à des entreprises contribuant à ces problématiques.
